BeadBooze Separator / Release Agent – Instructions for Use

1. Shake well before each use.
2. The mandrel must be clean, dry and free of oil. The tip of a new mandrel should be heated in the flame before first use.
3. Dip the mandrel into the release agent and pull it out quickly and steadily to obtain an even coating. The speed at which you pull it out determines the thickness of the coating: the faster you pull, the thicker the coating; the slower, the thinner. If you are not happy with the thickness, simply dip the mandrel again and pull it out slightly faster or slower.
4. The release agent can be dried in air or in the flame. Air drying produces slightly better results. If flame drying, please dry as slowly and evenly as possible.
5. Immediately before winding the molten glass around the mandrel, the release agent coating must be heated in the flame until it glows slightly. The release agent must not cool down again after the first heating, as it will flake off if reheated. The coating must therefore remain hot until you have achieved the final size and shape of the bead. Please pay particular attention to this when making long beads where one end extends out of the flame.
6. The release agent in the bottle should have a creamy consistency. It tends to thicken over time and should be thinned with tap water until the consistency is correct again.
